As a result of Lauren Harvey's efforts, Hough and Chester Botanicals was formed in 2021 and became a company in 2022. As a hobby, she began making soap, lotion, and perfume during the Coronavirus pandemic. Soon her house was full of different products, such as handmade soaps, lotions, and perfumes. To be able to market her craft, she founded a way to do so in order to do so on a small scale. Throughout the whole process, her family really supported the idea, and her brother Larry Harvey III has been there for her every step of the way. In addition to Rufus Harvey, she has also been supported by her other brother whenever it comes to media or pictures. As a result of the assistance and support of her family, she was able to craft the perfect recipe and make it available to the public. In the beginning, Lauren applied to local farmers markets, but none of them accepted her application except for the Tremont Farmers Market. Thanks to their support, Hough and Chester Botanicals flourished and grew as a small business. The experience enabled Lauren to establish a number of partnerships and connections, so she hopes to continue to grow in the future.
